防水材料的选择对防水层质量和耐用年限有极大的的影响，正确选择、合理使用防水材料是屋面防水设计成败的关键之一，虽然目前柔性防水材料的种类繁多，性能各异，以前采用沥青卷材，耐穿刺性能差，低温柔性差，易老化，防水层耐用年限短。
The selection of waterproof material has great influence on the quality and durability of waterproof layer. Correct selection and rational use of waterproof material is one of the keys to the success or failure of roof waterproof design. Although there are many kinds of flexible waterproof materials with different properties, asphalt coil was used in the past with poor puncture resistance, poor low temperature flexibility, easy aging and short durability of waterproof layer.
而PVC改性沥青卷材，具有耐老化，耐候性，延伸率大，使用寿命长。同时施工简单，造价低，便于维修，使用效果好。
The PVC modified asphalt coil has aging resistance, weatherability, high elongation and long service life. At the same time, the construction is simple, the cost is low, the maintenance is easy, and the use effect is good.
PVC防水卷材的性能要求为：拉伸强度：纵向≥7．0MPa，横向1>7．0MPa．断裂伸长率：纵向≥150％，横向≥150％．拉力：纵向≥7O，横向≥6O，耐热度90℃，低温弯折性：一20℃，无裂纹。抗渗透性：O．2MPa，24小时不透水，抗穿孔性不透水。
The performance requirements of PVC waterproofing membrane are as follows: tensile strength: longitudinal (> 7.0 MPa), transverse (> 7.0 MPa). elongation at break: longitudinal (> 150%) and transverse (> 150%). Tensile force: longitudinal (> 7O), transverse (> 6O), heat resistance (> 90 C), low temperature flexibility (> 120 (%) without cracks. Anti-permeability: O.2MPa, 24 hours impermeability, anti-perforation impermeability.
